A Man and His Dog

A Man wrote a letter to a small hotel in the Midwestern town he planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote: “I would very much like to bring my dog with me. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?”

An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who said, “I’ve been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I’ve never had a dog steal towels or silverware. I’ve never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I’ve never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes indeed your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you’re welcome to stay here, too.”

  1. This is a brilliant response from a hotelier
as many of us like to take our pets on holiday
with us, usually it is a rather grumpy NO WAY…

I hope you are having a lovely
start to your Monday Carrie 🙂

    1. Andro!! 🙂 so good of you to drop by!! Well, you know how I am about my dogs when I read that I had to share!! And its the truth many times.
      I love the humour.
The vouching for you part reminded me of years ago when I owned a big house and decided to rent out part of the basement. I was concerned about who I had downs there being a single woman and all. I had a Border Collie, Shayla; and every time someone came to look at the basement she would be glued to my side but with one fellow she almost caused me to fall down the stairs she was so intent on keeping me away from him. She kept pushing herself between us and I was getting frustrated with her but then I realized she hadn’t greeted him like all the others, she wasn’t wagging her tail, she just wanted me away from him.

When he called and said he wanted the basement I told him it was taken. There was something Shayla sensed about him and if she didn’t vouch for him I certainly wasn’t going to question her.

Good to see you Andro! I hope you had a wickedly wonderful weekend!!!
      Hugs
      Carrie
