I had a special request for a Christmas plate with Spiderman on it. The woman loved my plates and wanted to give one to her young son and he loves Spiderman. I was hesitant but said I would give it a try. I am pleased with myself , I really didn’t think it would turn out but I can’t wait to see her reaction.
What do you think?

This is another plate I finished yesterday, I am hoping to sell it today when I take Spiderman in.

There is life and light after the narcissist, I promise! Hugs Carrie

    Good morning Carrie,
What are the plates wood or glass? It looks like they are wooden becuz they take the paint colors so richly. if so, how do you find wooden plates? My favorite is the 2nd one – the bridge & the church…is that for sale? I love the beautiful shades of blues on it!!! Love, your fan in Florida

Heather, the plates are glass, the reason the colours are so intense is because there are many coats of paint, probably 5 by the time I am done. That’s why they take so long to do. I was surprised I was able to do two plates this weekend, usually it takes me several days to do a plate but I guess I am getting better and I didn’t have as much detail in these two as some of the plates I’ve done.
The plate isn’t sold as of this minute, I had someone request I bring a few for her to choose from and I was going to take that one with me when I went. I charge a fair amount for them because I put so much time into them, $40. But they are one of a kind.
Thank you for your enthusiasm over my efforts!!
I am always amazed when someone gushes over something I have painted.

I wanted to add…have you thought about illustrating or making your own children’s book? Your art is beautiful and for some reason I keep seeing it in a child’s book. Maybe write about your dogs or Xmas story or anything. The possibilities are endless. Something to think about and look into? Just a thought

Jessie, you know I haven’t really considered that but you have me thinking now. I had thought about it as a gift for my grand daughter but not as something to publish but you may be on to something. I especially like the idea of my dogs. I will have to see if I can paint a Shar-pei.
      Thanks for the suggestion!
