Inspirational Message for Monday June 2, 2014.

“Life is not always what one wants it to be, but to make the best of it as it is, is the only way of being happy. – Jennie Jerome Churchill

There is always something to be thankful for if we force ourselves to to look outside of our pain. Yes we may be hurting so badly we can barely move but what good does it do us to wallow in self pity and make everyone who crosses our path  sorry they did?

Usually if you face the day as a new day, free of the pain from yesterday and worry of tomorrow; just as a day, one day, you can get through the day much happier and the people around won’t run for cover when they see you coming. You were a victim, you must remember you are no longer a victim so you can lose the victim, “I am helpless to stop the pain” mentality. He controlled your emotions, as in past tense; he no longer defines your worth, or your moods. You control your life now, so take that control and do something positive today. Smile at a stranger, do a random act of kindness, call an old friend just to say hi and not talk about yourself as them how they are and really listen.

Remember, you are a survivor, try staying in the moment just for today.

  1. Weird you wrote this ‘coz it came up for me earlier today.
I wrote my roommate and best friend a letter of gratitude today. It’s three pages long…both sides and I will leave it for him tonight for when he gets home from work.

He’s done so much for me during my recovery, as in, above and beyond. So I want to let him know that I’m grateful and acknowledge a list of things he’s done and how I feel about those things and him as well.

I would not be close to where I’m at right now if not for his help and support.

    1. Safire, it is at times like after leaving an N you find out who your true friends are, sounds like you have been truly blessed and I am sure he feels the same way, blessed to have you as a friend.
